These terms are the agreement between you and Arc for using the app. We've kept them plain. By creating an account or using Arc, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Arc ("the app", "we", "us") is a habit and goal tracker for Android, published under the package
com.syntay.arc. These Terms apply to the Arc app and its companion surfaces (home-screen and
lock-screen widgets, the Quick Settings tile, and the Wear OS app).
Arc is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Arc, whether or not you create an account. By using Arc, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
An account is optional. You can use Arc's core habit tracking without ever signing up — an account is only needed if you want cloud sync, Arc Plus, or the accountability-partner feature. If you do create an account:
To keep Arc working for everyone, you agree not to:
The habits, goals, moods, notes, and identities you create are your content, and you own it. You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the app for you — for example, to store your data and, if you turn on Cloud sync, to back it up to your account so you can restore it and use it across devices. We don't claim ownership of your content and we don't sell it. You can export everything (JSON/CSV) or delete your account and data at any time from inside the app.
The Arc app itself — its software, design, branding, and content we provide — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Arc for your own habit tracking, subject to these Terms. The Arc name and logo may not be used without our permission.
Your use of Arc is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have. Arc is built on-device first: your data stays on your phone unless you turn on a feature that needs the cloud.
Arc is a self-tracking and motivation tool. Its insights, predictions, slip-risk estimates, and correlations are for general informational purposes only and are not medical, mental-health, or other professional advice, and not a substitute for it. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional for decisions about your health or wellbeing. Never disregard professional advice because of something in the app.
We work to keep Arc available and reliable, but we may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time. Some features depend on third-party services (such as Google Firebase, Google Play, and Health Connect) that are outside our control.
Arc is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data predictions will be accurate. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arc and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.
You may stop using Arc and delete your account at any time from inside the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or use the app in a way that harms other users or our systems. On termination, the licence granted to you ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as content ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will remain in effect.
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, surface a notice in the app. Continuing to use Arc after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you in your country of residence.
